Rock Creek Unified School District 323

With locations in St. George and Westmoreland, USD 323 serves many of the county's residents. About 900 students are enrolled in the school district, which employs over 70 full and part time teachers.


Rock Creek Jr/Sr is ranked 1st within Kansas. Students have the opportunity to take Advanced Placement® course work and exams. The AP® participation rate at Rock Creek Jr/Sr High School is 36 percent. The student body makeup is 54 percent male and 46 percent female, and the total minority enrollment is 9 percent. Rock Creek Jr/Sr High School is the only high school in Rock Creek. 

  • In 2009, SGES won the Kansas Challenge Award, which recognizes high achievement in spite of obstacles like high numbers of free/reduced lunch students and is only bestowed upon 10 schools in the state.
  • In 2009, RCJSHS received the National Blue Ribbon Award, which honors high student achievement and is the highest award a school can win in the U.S.  
  • In 2010, SGES won the National Blue Ribbon Award and the Governor's Achievement Award, which recognizes the top 5% of schools in math and reading achievement.
