Ride for Trails!

The net proceeds from the ride will help fund the WAM-SAG-MAN Recreational Trail that will begin in Wamego and connect with Saint George and Manhattan's Linear Trail..

Tired of winter? Looking for an early spring ride? Then please join us Saturday, March 29 for a day of bicycling in beautiful Pottawatomie County, Kansas.

The fourth annual Cabin Fever Challenge will begin and end at Wamego Middle School, 1701 Kaw Valley Road, Wamego, KS.

The Fourth Annual Cabin Fever Challenge includes three routes:

57-mile paved route - MAP
Check-in: 7:30 a.m. until 8:45 a.m.
Mass start: All riders depart at 9:00 a.m.

34.5-mile paved route - MAP
Check-in: 7:30 a.m. until 8:45 a.m.
Mass start: All riders depart at 9:00 a.m.

18.5-mile paved route - MAP
Check-in: 7:30 a.m. until 9:15 a.m.
Mass start: All riders depart at 9:30 a.m.

Riders may turn around at any point during the 18.5-mile route to customize riding distance. These are NOT races. All ability levels are welcome.

Course closes for all routes at 2:30 p.m.



Pre-Registration

Your pre-registration form must be postmarked by March 13, 2008 to guarantee the 2008 Cabin Fever Challenge T-shirt. Registration is $20 for the 34.5- and 57-mile routes. Registration is $15 for the 18.5-mile route. All entry fees are non-refundable.

A $25 entry fee will be charged for those who do not pre-register or who register the morning of the ride for the 34.5- and 57-mile routes. A $20 entry fee will be charged for riders who do not pre-register or who register the morning of the ride for the 18.5-mile route .

Pre-Registered Entry Fee Includes:

- 2008 Cabin Fever Challenge T-shirt
- Breakfast before the ride (7:30 a.m. - 9:15 a.m.)
- Snacks and drinks at stops
- Bicycle mechanic available at start
- SAG support
- Shower facilities. Please bring your own towel, soap, etc.

Rest Stops and SAGS
Rest stops will be approximately every 9-13 miles. Beverages and snacks will be provided. We will have support vehicles traveling the route. Each rider should carry a spare tube, patch kit, and frame pump just in case. Riders unable to finish will be transported back to Wamego.

Driving Directions

On Interstate 70, take exit 328 (Hwy. 99). Go north on Hwy. 99, 10.2 miles to Wamego. Hwy 99 changes to Lincoln Street at Wamego. At the Hwy 24 & Lincoln Street/Hwy 99 intersection, go west .5 miles until you reach Kaw Valley Road. Take a right and go .4 miles to the Wamego Middle School. Parking is available in the school parking lot. Registration tables are located inside the school.

Other Information  

There will be a Road ID drawing for eight $15 certificates that will take place after registration. Winners will be notified after the route completion. Visit www.roadid.com for more information on Road ID.

Body First will have two massage therapists. They will give 10-minute massages for $10.  We will not be collecting any money ahead of time for this but if you want a massage let us know so we have a pretty good idea how many people they need to prepare for.  You will pay the massage therapist when you get your massage.
