Individual residential subdivisions in Blue Township have their own
parks, some including swimming pools, in this area.
Pottawatomie Lake number 2 is located in Blue Township and offers fishing, swimming, picnicking and camping to the public. Tuttle Creek Reservoir is only a few miles north, providing multiple opportunities for camping, hiking, swimming, boating, sailing, horseback riding, bicycling, etc. in its several parks and recreational areas. The Konza Prairie is only a few miles southwest of Blue Township and offers several thousand acres of natural prairie with limited access hiking along designated trails. There are literally hundreds of miles of back-country roads in Pottawatomie County, many of which have been mapped for biking and hiking. The Kansas River is publicly accessible and offers great opportunities for canoeing and camping. Manhattan, Wamego and Westmoreland also offer extensive athletic fields for organized sports and municipal parks, that offer swimming, tennis and basketball courts, outdoor performance stages, picnic areas, etc. There are several high quality public and private golf courses in the
area.
