St. George is located midway between Manhattan and Wamego, only a mile south of the 4-lane Hwy. 24 corridor and on the old Hwy. 40 corridor, which is a well-maintained hard surface road.

Thus, St. George is very strategically located for future residential and commercial growth, but at present serves primarily as a "bedroom" community for people working in surrounding communities.

There are currently a limited number of local businesses in St. George. However, many serve unique niches. They include equestrian stables, a combined outdoor recreation and catering service, and an expert fly-fishing outfitter.
