The St. George town site lies in a very scenic area along the bluffs overlooking the Kansas River. Most of the land nearest St. George is zoned agricultural and agricultural-residential. However only a mile or two north lies the Highway 24 corridor which has much land zoned for future commercial and industrial development. Other lands abutting the old Highway 40 corridor west of St. George are also suitable for commercial and industrial development.
